Family Deluxe Chili

  1. 2 pounds ground beef
  2. 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  3. 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
  4. 4 cups chicken broth
  5. 1 (7-ounce) can diced green chilies
  6. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  7. 5 tablespoons vegetable oil
  8. 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  9. 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  10. 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  1. Brown ground beef and crushed garlic cloves in a skillet; drain.
  2. Add tomato sauce, chicken broth, chilies and salt. Simmer for 1 hour.
  3. Meanwhile, in a skillet heat oil over medium-low heat.
  4. Add flour, pepper, and cumin and cook for 5 minutes then stir into the ground beef mixture.
  5. Simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
