Cincinnati Chili


INGREDIENTS
  1. 1 qt beef broth
  2. 2 lbs. ground beef
  3. 1/4 cup onion flakes
  4. 4 tbsp chili powder
  5. 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  6. 1 tsp ground cumin
  7. 3/4 tsp instant minced onions
  8. 1/2 tsp salt
  9. 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  10. 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  11. 1/16 tsp ground red pepper (cayenne)
  12. 1 bay leaf
  13. 15 oz can tomato sauce
  14. 2 tbsp cider or white vinegar
  15. 1/2 oz unsweetened chocolate
DIRECTIONS
  1. Boil beef broth in a 4-qt. saucepan. Slowly add beef to broth until meat separates into small pieces. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, simmer, covered, 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  3. Refrigerate overnight. Skim off fat and reheat.
