Abilene Texas Chili


INGREDIENTS
  1. 3 lbs. Lean ground beef
  2. 3 tb Brown sugar
  3. 1 ts Thyme
  4. 1 ts Salt
  5. 1 ts Cumin seed
  6. 1 ts Garlic powder
  7. 2 Bay leaves
  8. 1 ts Cilantro
  9. 1/4 ts Oregano (Mexican preferred)
  10. 1 ts Cayenne pepper
  11. 2 tb Paprika
  12. 46 oz V-8 juice
  13. 1 c Onions; chopped
  14. 16 oz Peeled tomatoes
  15. 4 c Pinto or kidney beans
DIRECTIONS
  1. Brown beef and drain fat.
  2. Add all ingredients and cover.
  3. Cook for 4 hours or so on medium.
